AN Tube Fittings

↪ AN fittings are based on a sizing system that corresponds to the outside diameter (OD) of metal tubing in 1/16-inch increments.
↪ AN fittings, short for Army-Navy fittings, are a standardized system of fluid connectors and fittings used primarily in automotive, aerospace, and marine applications.
↪ For example, an AN-4 fitting is designed to work with tubing that has a 1/4-inch outer diameter, while an AN-8 fitting is meant for tubing with a 1/2-inch outer diameter.
↪ The AN system originated during World War II for military aircraft applications and has since become widely adopted in various industries due to its reliability and compatibility.

Nut: The nut screws onto the fitting body, compressing the ferrule onto the tubing and securing it in place.
Bulkhead Fittings: These fittings pass AN lines through panels or walls while maintaining a sealed connection.
Port Plugs and Caps: These are used to seal off unused ports or fittings in a system to prevent leaks and contamination.

Fitting Body: This is the central part of the fitting that connects to the tubing or hose. It usually has a threaded end for easy installation.
Oil Coolers and Oil Cooler Adapters: AN fittings are commonly used in engine oil cooler systems to facilitate the efficient cooling of engine oil.
Fuel Filters and Fuel Regulators: Many aftermarket fuel systems utilize AN fittings for easy installation and customization of fuel filters and regulators.

Ferrule: Also known as a sleeve or collar, the ferrule is a cylindrical piece that compresses onto the tubing when the fitting is tightened, creating a secure seal.
Hose Ends: Hose ends are specialized fittings designed to attach hoses to AN fittings securely. They come in various configurations, including straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree angles.
Adapter Fittings: These fittings allow for connections between AN fittings and other types of fittings or components, such as NPT (National Pipe Thread), JIC (Joint Industry Council), or metric fittings.

AN Union RUA

AN Union RUA

↪ This is useful for extending tubing lengths or connecting two lines without needing additional adapters or fittings.
↪ An AN Union, often denoted as RUA, is a fitting designed to join two AN fittings together directly, creating a straight connection without any angle. AN Union RUA

↪ It typically consists of a threaded section with a nut and a compression fitting to secure the AN line, allowing for a clean and secure passage through the mounting surface.
↪ The AN Bulkhead Union, or RUBA, is a specialized fitting designed to pass an AN line through a panel, firewall, or any other barrier while maintaining a sealed connection on both sides. AN bulkhead union RUBA

Male AN Adapter RMAA

↪ The Male AN Adapter, sometimes referenced as RMAA, is a fitting used to convert a non-AN threaded port or component into an AN-compatible connection.
↪ It features male AN threads on one end and a different type of thread on the other end, such as NPT (National Pipe Thread) or BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread), allowing for versatile connections between AN fittings and different types of fittings or components. Male AN Adapter RMAA

↪ AN Adapters, often denoted as RAA, are fittings used to connect two AN fittings of different sizes or configurations.
↪ These adapters come in various designs, such as straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree angles, allowing for flexibility in routing fluid lines and accommodating different system layout requirements. AN Adapter RAA
